Q Barbeque is another chain that has done very well. For the sake of this review I’ll limit my comments to the location on Fribble Way in Midlothian, VA. This is the only one that we have visited.

Where Is Q Barbeque?

They are off of Hull Street, Route 360, at 13800 Fribble Way. They may be about a mile off of Highway 288. If coming from that direction they will be on your left at the intersection of Hull Street and Deer Run Dr. Then turn right into the shopping area.

The Restaurant and Staff:

Q Barbeque has always been very clean and friendly. They have a pretty good size dining area and the staff stays on top of it. Everyone there has always treated us well. Even when they are busy they will take the time to talk with you. We always enjoy stopping here.

What We Ate at Q Barbeque:

Two Meat Plate, Brisket & Pulled Pork.

For this review I ordered the Two Meat Plate with Pulled Pork and Brisket. The pork is very good. It has award winning flavor. And by award winning I mean that literally. Restaurant founder, Tuffy Stone, won many awards in competition prior to opening his first restaurant. The brisket rates up there too. It also has a really good flavor. Both meats are very moist and juicy.

As a side note, I have tried the ribs twice here and my verdict is still out. The first time I had them they had a good flavor but were way too fatty for me. I gave them a second chance and really enjoyed them that time. They may have had a bad batch the first time, I don’t know. I have not went for the third round yet. I usually just stick with the pork and brisket.

Brisket and Pulled Pork with Pineapple Hot Dish

We’ve tried several of their sides including the Baked Beans, Coleslaw, Mac & Cheese, and the Hot Pineapple Dish. All of these have been very tasty each time we visited. They taste more like homemade than mass produced. Tammy also likes the Corn Pudding. I’ll never review that so you’ll have to take her word for it.

And I dare not forget to mention their cornbread muffins. They rock. So you can see they have many choices that can satisfy your cravings.

Final Thoughts:

Ok, my final thoughts on Q Barbeque are pretty simple. You should give them a try. In our world of bbq today with the great smokers on premises and many awesome pit masters running restaurants we can’t rule out all chains. Some chains deserve our attention. Q Barbeque’s attention to the details puts them in that category. If you haven’t tried them out you should. I think you’ll be glad you did.
