We took a ride the other day and ended up at Scoot’s BBQ again. After eating there I wanted to do an update on them.
Where Is Scoot’s BBQ?
They are located on Route 17 just north of the Coleman Bridge in Gloucester Point, VA. You can read my earlier post to get more details about them. I’ll try to copy a link to that post here. http://www.patricksbbqtrail.com/scoots-bbq-gloucester-point-va/
What We Ate at Scoot’s BBQ:
Well the reason I wanted to update my post on Scoot’s BBQ is because I had forgotten just how good they really are.
Again I ordered the BBQ Combo. Along with the slaw and corn muffin which is included I added fried okra and baked beans.
I did try to substitute the chicken for sausage but they don’t allow you to do that. None the less, the pulled chicken was really good. It came with a little sauce on it but this time I added their sweet & spicy sauce. Man that was a good combination. The pulled pork and the sliced brisket were awesome. Plenty of smoke flavor. I didn’t add anything to either of them. The brisket had a little sauce on it but not covered in it.
Final Thoughts:
Again, this is a revisit. We’ve been to Scoot’s BBQ a few times but haven’t been in a while. We need to get out that way more often. And like I said to start this one out, you can read more on my original post.
Scoot’s BBQ is also in the process of celebrating their first anniversary. We missed their birthday by a couple of days. But hey, ask my nieces and missing by a couple of days is pretty early for me. So Happy Anniversary Scoot’s BBQ. Hope you have many more. I do wish you still had that Double Chocolate Torte. That used to be to die for. Well couldn’t have fit it anyways.
Your Thoughts:
I’d still like to have some fresh thoughts from others out there about Scoot’s.
Have you been to Scoot’s BBQ?
Tell us about your visit.
What do you regulars think?
There has to be a local fan base over there to keep Scoot’s in business. Tell us about them so we can add to the story. I’ll post your comments as you send them in.
I look forward to hearing from you.
You can find them on www.facebook.com/scootsbbq
Enjoy the ride, good eating and thanks for stopping by.

We LOVE Scoot’s. They have friendly staff and the food is superb. Gary and Karen have been a part of our community their entire lives and have proven themselves in the restaurant biz many times over. And they are generous in our community, helping with school fundraisers and such.
Susannah, thank you for taking the time to let us know more about the owners. We have met Karen and she seems to be just as you said. Just wish we were not so far away. Thanks again.
Although I live several hours away from Gloucester, I made sure to stop in for lunch recently while in town for the day. I did so to support Gary and Karen; it’s the least any of us from Gloucester can do to thank them for the philanthropy and love they have given to their community and my hometown. After walking in, and taking the first bite, it was clear that same love was poured into their staff, the service and the deliciousness of their BBQ. It was soooo good and perfectly “sauced”. Don’t let yourself “scoot” through Gloucester without stopping by Scoots.
I like where you’re coming from. I have heard nothing but good comments on Gary and Karen. Have yet to meet Gary but Karen was very nice when we met. I love hearing about their involvement in the community. This is why I love the small businesses that we go to all around. Thanks for the comments and glad you agree with the bbq. It is pretty awesome. Wished we lived closer too. Have a great evening.
